Spring 2016 (March thru May)

The tomatoes are all in(80 plants including 20 dwarf varieties)  Plenty of new of the full sized indeterminate varieties this year including Black Icicle, Giallo de Summer, Carbon, Garden Gem, and Wild Boar. New dwarf varieties include Blazing Beauty, Fred's Tie Dye, Wherokowhai, and Purple Heart which were all stared from seed provided by Craig LeHouiller.

I added a new drip irrigation system using water from our rain harvest basin in our water garden and 1 inch pvc pipe to hopefully provide a more efficient watering routine this year. We have started a fungal treatment routine beginning in mid May using Actinovate. Also in concert with this I have been quite vigilant about trimming the lower limbs of the indeterminate plants to minimize splash on the plants. Further preventative measures include a layer of landscape fabric as well as a layer of wheat straw on top of the fabric.
